To print your hands you must purchase a 4 to 6 inch brayer and a small tube of black water soluable printers ink.  These supplies are easily found at art supply stores. You will also need a magnifying glass to read your fingerprints.  These are available at most drug stores.

Next you must fold a sheet of paper in half and place it on the top of a flat surface.  Squeeze a  one inch blob of
the ink onto the paper and use the brayer to smooth
it out onto the paper.  When you have a smooth consistency of ink onto the paper, take the brayer and
roll it over the hand of the person you are printing until you have the entire palm covered.  Once the palm is covered, have the person place their palm down relaxed and comfortably onto a clean sheet of paper.  Press on the back of their hand until you feel that the entire palm has made  contact with the paper. Have them lift their hand gently and then have them place it onto a second sheet of paper and press firmly again until the entire hand has made contact with the paper.  Again have them lift gently.

If there is a hollow in the middle of the palm on the first print, when you are making the second print you must have your person lift their wrist up while keeping their palm in place on the paper and bring your hand up under the the paper and press the center of their palm where it did not print in the first print.  Be slow but firm as you do this and the center of their palm should print this time.

After you have finished this process, you must do the other hand in the same manner.  Allow the prints to dry thoroughly before putting them in an envelope to send to me.  If you have any problems call me at                   925 249-9154 and I will walk you through it.

Finally, you must read and record your fingerprints next and send those along with the prints.  The instruction for this process is as follows:  Using a magnifying glass look at the prints below and then look at each finger and thumb and record  them in the order of

              Thumb__Pointer__Middle__Ring__Pinkie
 Right/______ /  _____ /______/_____/______

Left   /____ _/______ /______/_____/_______

The symbol for the whorl is a circle with a dot in center
The symbol for the loop is an upside down U
The symbol  for the tent pole is an upside down T
The symbol for the arch is a dash --

Place the appropriate symbol under each finger for the right hand and then for the left hand.
